Yes, men can experience pregnancy symptoms, too, even if they're not really pregnant ala Schwarzenegger in the film, Junior. What I'm referring to is a syndrome called Couvade Syndrome. In such cases, the fathers-to-be also experience the symptoms of pregnancy such as indigestion, increased or decreased appetite, weight gain, diarrhea or constipation, headache, and toothache. There are a lot of theories trying to explain why some men go through this sympathetic pregnancy and others not, but recent studies indicate that men do undergo hormonal changes too as they prepare for fatherhood.
So how many of you fathers out there went through or are going through the Couvade syndrome? What symptoms did you have?
