It appears that it is not just the women who have optimum childbearing age; report says that particularly in couples who are having difficulties in conceiving, the father-to-be's age is also a big factor affecting the chances of a successful pregnancy.

Researchers in France studying over 12,000 couples with fertility problems found that when the man was over 35 pregnancy rates fell and perhaps more surprisingly, miscarriage rates rose, leading them to conclude that the age of the father was just as important as the age of the mother in reaching a successful pregnancy.

So the clock ticks for men, too! If these findings are confirmed and verified to be true to a larger sample population, I wonder whether men would also go through the predicament women do in making choices between career and parenthood.
