I have decided to have a professional do my maternity portraits. I didn't have it during my first pregnancy and looking back, I wish i did. I do have some snapshots c/o my husband, but they simply don't have the quality or effects I see on professional photographers' portfolios. It's going to cost, sure, but if I find the right photographer, I'm sure it will be worth it.
Want to have your pregnancy pictures taken, too? There are so many photographers out there offering maternity packages. Ask your friends for referrals. When you inquire on the package pricing, clarify what the inclusions in the packages are – how many prints, what size, whether you'll be given soft copies, or whether you'll be charged extra for subsequent prints. Get all the details. Prior to your appointment, try to relax, pamper yourself, perhaps with a pedicure and some light make-up. Bring a change of costumes (ask your photographer if props will be provided), and perhaps a robe as you most likely will be required to bare a bit of skin during the session. Oh, and try not to wear anything that will leave marks on your skin. The photos can later be edited to remove such imperfections, but your photographer may charge you extra for that!
