Vision Changes During Pregnancy
Filed in archive Pregnancy Signs and Symptoms on March 12, 2008
During pregnancy, you might notice that your eyesight is getting flaky, your vision getting blured at times. Don't worry, while not all pregnant women experience this, it is quite normal and temporary, i.e., your eyesight will return to normal after you deliver your baby. It is caused by the same hormones that sometimes makes you feel bloated, the same hormones that causes ankle swelling in some pregnant women.
While it is usually nothing to worry about, although sometimes, it can be an indication of pregnancy induced hypertension. If you display other symptoms of hypertension, best consult your doctor. If you think you need a new pair of glasses or a different set of contact lenses, discuss it with your eye doctor.
